Prizes are awarded for the following Junior competitions:

Ringer Awards

Each junior records his/her score for each hole on the master board in the Starter Shack. Each time he/she improves on a given hole, it is revised on the master board. The card containing this score (improved score) must be attested (signed by his/her playing partner when the round is completed), dated and put in the Junior Ringer box in the Starter Shack. At the end of the season, the golfer who records the lowest score wins the Ringer prize. A prize is given for each class.

Aggregate Shields

These are awarded on the basis of points earned during the summer. The points are earned during the Tuesday tournaments and on the following basis:

• 1 completed round of golf:1 point
• Participation: 2 points
• Ringers completed: 5 points
• Chip-ins: 1 point
• Eagles: 5 points
• Birdies: 3 points
• Dress code: 1 point

Bantam Soper Shield

The Bantam Soper Shield is a trophy awarded to the winner of match play competition for juniors who were under the age of 12 as of January 1 st. There is a qualifying round and then the qualifiers play off during the summer. Matches are 9 holes. Juniors must set up their own games which must be played by the deadline given. There is a winner and a runner-up. You must notify the Starter before your match is played. An adult must accompany the Juniors during each round to act as a referee.

Garth Fish Trophy

The Garth Fish Trophy is awarded to the winner of match play for juniors who were 12 and over as of January 1st.  There is a qualifying round and then the juniors play off during the summer. Matches are 18 holes.  Juniors must set up their own games which must be played by the deadline given. There is a winner and a runner-up. You must notify the Starter before your match is played. An adult must accompany the Juniors during each round to act as a referee.

Junior Club Championship: The Marshall Cup

This is a gross score 36-hole tournament. The tournament is open to all juniors with an earned handicap who were 16 years old or younger as of January 1st.  

Dorothy Sutherland Cup

This is a trophy for the junior female golfer who posts the low gross score in the Junior Club Championship.

David Everson Memorial Trophy

This trophy is in memory of David Everson, Philip Everson’s son, who was a junior at Dunany. It is presented to the Junior Golfer who has shown all around participation and improvement as well as enthusiasm, sportsmanship and golf etiquette during the golf season.

Sarah Hamond Trophy

This trophy is awarded to the most improved female golfer.

Minty Cup

This trophy is awarded to the male golfer under 25 years of age who posts the lowest gross score in the Men’s Club Championship.
