Dear Members of the Dunany Country Club,

I am really looking forward to the summer and not just for the warm weather and lack of winter coat and boots, although for that reason as well. It will be great to get out on the course for exercise and fun. I hope you all are looking forward to playing lots of golf this summer, and to participating regularly in our tournaments and social events.

Your Board of Directors continue to work hard to provide a first rate golf experience, with lots of social activities and events, the whole at a reasonable cost.

We have also made sure this year that our membership is full to the limit allowed by our constitution. We will have 12 new Regular Members this year including 2 former Intermediate and 8 from Introductory. We will have 19 new Introductory Members from our waiting list, and our mandated constitutional limits and ratios will still be respected.

The Board of Directors undergoes a few changes every year and this year is no exception. We say goodbye and thank Marilyn Wynn (Club Captain), Chrys Tindale (Social) and Diane Glionna (Secretary). I will have more to say on these changes at the Annual Meeting (which I hope many of you will attend) but I would just say now thank you MARILYN, CHRYS AND DIANE. DCC can‟t function without good volunteers and these 3 were great.

If at any time this spring or summer you feel the need to discuss any issue, I invite you to contact my Vice-President. Seriously though, please feel free to write to me at deramian@lavery.ca or you can speak to any member on the Board.

We also must remember some great Dunany Country Club members who have passed on. We will miss Brian Cockhill, Peggy Farquharson and Dan Glover. Again, more will be said at the AGM on June 25th.

Please sign up for the tournaments and if you have time, ask a Board Member how you can help his or her committee. Looking forward to a great summer. Play often, play fast and have fun.
