Congratulations on the 2018 Dunany Men's Invitational

A big success! 66 golfers were aided by sunny skies and a golf course in wonderful condition. A first class meal of steak and salad was expertly prepared by Don Manconi, Jim Cameron & Dave Glionna while Paul MacDougall and crew handled the bar duties. Kudos to Cat Spaulding and Starters, Jessica Adams & Annalies Smith.

Thanks to The Mike Roy Committee for organizing and running such a great event last Friday.  We are already looking forward to next year's event!

Thanks to Norm, Wendy and Taylor Castator for great Night Golf last Saturday evening. We had a large contingent from Lake Louisa, great to hear the laughter and cheering echoing throughout the course!

Men's tournaments are progressing; Peter Wright is doing a brilliant job getting the results online every Tuesday or Wednesday. Please keep yourselves informed about the dates for completing your tournament

Family Sports Day - Thursday July 26th @ 2:30 p.m.

 

Reminder the 8th & 9th holes will be closed as of 2 p.m.
 

Come out for an afternoon of old-fashioned fun! Suitable for ages 4-16 and we love grandparents too!  Teams participate in relays, potato sack races, water balloon toss, tug-of-war and more. Hosted by Warren Neill and family. BBQ supper follows the games and the bar will be open.  Families and friends are invited - the more, the merrier!  Meet at the 9th hole. It's a 50th Birthday Bash - Friday July 27 - All Welcome

A new generation of “Dunanites” are turning 50! Join the celebration at the Clubhouse starting from 8:00 p.m.

Open Mic, music, and plenty of fun!

DCC 4th Annual Music Fest is this Saturday July 28th  12 p.m-10 p.m.

Come out and enjoy great local musical talent such as The Dunany Glee Club featuring Choirmaster Cathy Leslie, Mountain Steam, Lakefield Brewing Company, The Soul Crusaders, Vicky Von Vicky, and many more. Everybody Loves Chico's Talent Night

Sunday, July 29th at 6 p.m.

An awesome talent show follows a delicious lasagna supper. Children of all ages are welcome to sing, dance, perform a skit, read a poem, play music or show their talent in any way! (We hear the judges love team efforts!) Performers can sign-up as they arrive at the club. Everyone is welcome to attend dinner at a modest cost, payable at the door. Donations of home-made lasagna are appreciated - if you would like to contribute please call Sharon Leslie at 450-562-4088

Ladies Cocktail Party

 

Thank you to all who have signed up for donations or to volunteer. We are looking for additional items for the Silent Auction such has gift certificates for restaurants or shops. We are also looking for volunteers to help Maureen coordinate things in the kitchen.  If you are bringing hot appetizers, please have them cooked ahead of time so we just have to re-heat.   • Sandwiches (chicken, salmon or tuna)

  • Volunteers for selling tickets (roaming) – half hour shifts between 4:00 and 5:30

Ladies Golf

We had a wonderful turnout of 29 golfers last Ladies Day  Wednesday, July 18th.  Ten groups teed off and played a competition called Pop it, Lop it, Drop it. Well done, everyone!

 

Winner is Mary Sutherland with 44.5 points (and a beautiful score of 44!)
Runner up is Maureen Cameron with 42.5 points
Followed by Val McNicholl with 39, Wendy Castator with 37 and Dorothy Hadley with 35.5 
 

PLAY FOR POINTS COMPETITION

Everyone is encouraged to get out and play.  For every ladies’ golf event you play, you will earn one point.  Events include Ladies Day, President's Cup, Captain's Prize, Four Ball Match Play, Ladies Invitational, IMP, and Ladies Club Championship. A win in a Ladies Day game earns an extra point. A Dunany glass will be awarded to the player with the most points in the A, B, C and D fields and presented at our closing meeting in August.

 

 MATCH PLAY

Thank you to everyone participating in our three match play competitions.  There are 19 players in the Captain's Prize and 36 players in the Four Ball Match Play.  Fantastic turnout! The next round is to be completed by August 6th.

 

The next round of the President's Cup is due by August 3rd.  Please note there is a grace period of three days if needed.  The maximum handicap is 40.  The Dunany Common Rules Situations/Procedures and Penalties for Quick Reference is available in the Starter Shack.

 

Our golf instructor, Marc Barbeau, is recovering from illness.  We are missing our lessons and wish him a very speedy recovery.  Please drop by the starter shack and sign a get well card for Marc. We are also missing Sue McAlpine and Barb Therrien on the course.  Heal well!

Every Monday at 12:00. We welcome members, men and women, with all levels of bridge experience.
